The present lecture is on the festivals of lights and colours. These festivals mostly national in character are celebrated in a grand manner. They include Dipavali, Krittika, Holi and Navaratri festivals. They are major celebrations of the Indian mass. As has already been said in our previous parts, the festivals bring variegated cultural groups together thereby creating an acculturation.
