Hence Centre for Development Heritage and Tourism; DHAN Foundation initiated the Experiential Tourism Network of Tamilnadu with the Villages where DHAN Collective Cross Root Development work is happening continuously in Tamilnadu and in various states with the primary stake holding of Community Development Institutions in the Villages.
The unique feature of the Experience Tourism Net Work is Developing and Empowering Heritage/Hospitality Group and Community Guides based on 5 Traditional Eco System ( Kurinji, Mullai , Marudham , Palai and Neithal) with the Practice of Responsible Tourism Principles(Social, Economical, Cultural and Environmental). This villages are near by the popular Tourism Destination( Like Madurai, Rameshwaram, Pondicherry, Tanjavur, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Chidambaram, Kanchipuram .Chenleput, Chennai, Kumbakonam, Salem, Theni, Vellur, Cheettinad.,etc) which we hope will enhance stay more in these Destination.
The Experience Tourism seeker will get Experience directly with the Local Communities and the benefits of Tourism reach directly to the Local Community People Institution. This Initiative now available with 20 villages in various Districts of Tamilnadu and will expand to various Villages of Tamilnadu and States for the Tourism Industry in due course. Since the Sustainable initiatives are not Expensive and the Factors of Sustainability beyond the control of Local People, This net work wish to seek Community private Public partnership to develop the Experiential Tourism network in various parts of India.. This partnership is between/among Public (government), Private (individuals/organizations from outside the village), and Community (local villagers as individuals and collectives). Private can be both for-profit and not-for-profit. Village Panchayat is a part of the Community.
Anticipated IMPACT of this Experiential Tourism Sustainable Tourism based Livelihood of the Host local community will benefit from Heritage Conservation integrated with inclusive economic development, create jobs, Development of public infrastructure of the villages and Increase the demand for production and consumption of culture of Goods and Services.
