Samanarmalai is situated in Keelakuyilkudi heritage village, 11 kms from Madurai towards west direction Among the Jain hills at Madurai.
Keelakuyilkudi is the most familiar. Because it was run as University of Jain's and famous in south India. Upon the hill at Petchipallam we can see seven
wonderful sculptures with spring as Parsuvanathar, Pahupali, Mukkudainathar and all sculptures are created by "Paranthaka Veera Narayanan" on 860
A.D. to 905 A.D. So it was called then as "Madeviperumpalli" resemble wife of Paranthaka Veeranarayanan's name. At the top
of the hill single stone pillar and inscriptions are there.
